LUQMAN COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, GULBARGA
(Williams Withering, 1789)
Department of Pharmacology
About us
Vision Statement
Teaching of pharmacology is oriented to gain basic information about drugs and ways of their rational usage. The Department has interest in both basic and preclinical areas of research although its emphasis is on the basic sciences. Research in the department encompasses a wide variety of areas ranging from basis to clinical using methodologies that are classical and technologically state of the art, and is a learning center in the discovery and translation of molecular interaction and of cellular transport processes into target specific drugs and drug delivery systems. By exploring these molecular mechanisms of disease we strive the students to develop new methods and rational therapeutic approaches for treatment and prevention of diseases.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Department is to:
Provide first-rate education to
professional graduates and post graduates students
Develop high quality progressive
teaching and training programs in the areas of
faculty expertise. Utilization of departmental resources in the molecular basis of
health and disease prevention and the development and delivery of therapeutic
applications.
Establish a nationally and
internationally recognized program on research in the
mechanism of disease development progression.
Conduct cutting edge research in the
drug discovery, targeting and delivery and
monitoring.
Objectives
Educating students with the goal
of providing them with the necessary
foundation and confidence in applying and developing concepts in modern drug
discovery targeting and mechanism of drug action in the professional setting of
their choice.
Attracting and retaining students of highest quality who dare to
be trailblazers.
Developing novels of disease to
explore new therapeutic strategies.
Is to strengthen our
training program that enables students for exposure to the
wealth of opportunities
