M.Pharm Program Overview

The Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) is a 2-year (4-semester) postgraduate degree engineered to foster research expertise, technical competence, and specialized skill sets in pharmaceutical sciences.

Adhering strictly to Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) guidelines and affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), the program combines advanced theoretical coursework in Year 1 with intensive research thesis work in Year 2.

Research Focus: Semester III and IV are entirely dedicated to research methodology, biostatistics, dissertation writing, and experimental thesis defense.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for admission to the M.Pharm postgraduate program must meet the following criteria:

  • Degree Requirement: Passed Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from a PCI-approved institution.
  • Minimum Aggregate Marks: Secured at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates belonging to Karnataka state).
  • Council Registration: Registered Pharmacist with the State Pharmacy Council or must obtain registration within one month of joining.
  • Competitive Entrance: Preference is given to GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) qualifiers and Karnataka PGCET rank holders.

Admission Process & Documents

Admissions are granted via merit quota through Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) PGCET counseling and management quota seats.
